Dear Friends,
Without a vision the people perish…. Proverbs 29:18
In Acts chapter 16 Paul has a vision to take the gospel to Macedonia, upon responding to God’s vision Paul encounters Lydia a woman of Asian descent from Thyatira, a slave girl filled with a demonic spirit and a Philippian jailer; all three had their lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I share this same vision and passion for the gospel. We see in Acts 16 that the gospel can transform well-to-do Lydia’s of the world and the oppressed slave girls of the world and even the hardworking and imprisoned people of the world.
My passion for the gospel and personal experience with Jesus saving me at the age of thirteen has led me to plant a church in the heart of Southeast Raleigh. Vision International Church is designed to spread the gospel and allow God’s power to be displayed amongst people primarily within the urban context.
Vision International Church started with one question. What would Southeast Raleigh look like redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ? God has led me to plant a church in an area that is filled with crime and violence. The pragmatic thing to do would be to plant in a safer and more strategic area, but the gospel-centered thing to do is to take the gospel to those enslaved by sin and let them know of God’s love and grace. We believe we will start of movement of young urbanites filled with the Holy Spirit to share the gospel and live the gospel while fostering healthy Christian fellowship.
